don't string someone along

why? if someone is honest with you and knows that they aren't in the ideal situation, don't tell them one day that you definitely would have left the bar if they had told you they were coming to town and then a week later tell them (after blatantly ignoring them) that they are acting like the girlfriend you don't want. its confusing. then after giving them this news as a text, don't text the next day and ask if they're mad. yes - they're mad! they don't want to be jerked around.
say what you mean and mean what you say
ok... my pink pants are unbunched now. thanks.

never run with pencils!

This poor child wasn't necessarily running, but she fell on a pencil! 55 years later they remove as much of it as possible.
"Margret Wegner fell over carrying the pencil in her hand when she was four.

. . .

It narrowly missed vital parts of her brain. At the time no one dared operate, but now technology has improved sufficiently for doctors to be able to remove it.

Most of the pencil, some three inches long, was taken out in an operation at a private Berlin clinic, but the tip had grown in so firmly that it was impossible to remove."

yea for girl time

this may be an a-typical post for me, but i had to share my fun time this weekend in northern michigan. just being close to the lake made me love living in michigan again and appreciate all the greatness of the mitten.

i have my b.r.b.f.f. to thank for a relaxing weekend of sun and sand. i spent the night in my very own koa cabin, and then took off for harbor springs (bianca - my 93 grand am - so did not fit in with the richy riches up there) and laid out on the beach reading. i haven't been able to do that all summer yet! then t-dawg and i headed off to find 'our beach' which was actually a lot further from petoskey then we imagined. :) sure, we took the scenic route out which was lovely but very hard on the gas tank. so once we hit our gorgeous beach in wilderness state park, we still had to keep going until we could find some gas because the little red sunfire needed a bit of a beverage. only about 2 1/2 hours after setting out for the beach we made it there and were able to get some sand in our toes and enjoy the water.

if you ever have the chance, that is a beach to be at!
